Clubrooms + Hangar
Fiordland Aero Club is fortunate to own a modern clubroom/hangar complex. Our facilities include a large lounge, briefing room and kitchen. The club’s aircraft are stored in the attached hangar. There is plenty of vehicle parking on the road frontage and a BBQ area for socialising, while airside we have an all-weather concrete apron, a sheltered grass area for aircraft parking and a secure fuel storage zone.
- Kitchen with oven, microwave, crockery and cutlery.
- Bathroom with shower.
- Frozen convenience food and refreshments for self-serve purchase.
- Courtesy car (by arrangement) for visiting pilots to get to/from Manapouri or Te Anau.
- Microlight pilots can buy Mogas from the club (by arrangement)
- AvGas is available from the Card Pump by the Airport Terminal.
The Fiordland Aero Club has been promoting aviation in the Fiordland area since 1971.
History
The Te Anau community has always relied heavily on aviation and our club played an integral part in the early days. It supported the helicopter pilots during the deer recovery operations, assisted with search and rescue, and provided services to the aviation industry. Throughout the past 50 years, we have carried out pilot training for General Aviation (GA), and more recently using microlight aircraft, for Recreational Aviation.
